Went with the ALC at Zet'joe . First courses were the AAA white asparagus with stuffed morels. Morels were stuffed with chicken mousse. Green pea broth. Also langoustine, aubergine and foie gras. Enjoyed with 2020 Vre Clesse Domaine De Roally. Absolutely top class food.

Mains at Zet'joe were North sea turbot with mussels and sea snails. Also pigeon from Dombes, red wine sauce and ratatouille. The 2010 Morey-saint-denis Cuvee Alouettes from Ponsot was excellent. Pigeon and turbot cooked perfect. Wow, the depth of flavours. Perfection.

Desserts at Zet'joe was an ice cream with chocolate sauce and a dish of garriguete strawberries and rhubarb. Sounds simple but the ice cream was other worldly. The strawberries were stunning. Finished off with some bites to end a cracking lunch. Frites for dinner I think!

This 2022 Viña Zorzal Señora de las Alturas is great stuff. Lots of red fruit, mild tannins, strawberry, cranberry vanilla & pepper. Great with the lovely roasted St Server chicken risotto topped with crispy chicken skin. Cracking birds.

Return trip to Holy Smoke in Brussels. A superb Texas BBQ joint. Wonder how this compares to Franklyn or Terry Black's in Austin? Will probably never know. Couple of fireballs to get things going. Cracking place. Brisket, pork rib, pulled pork, smoked sausage, chili brisket. 👌

The weather has generally been great here for the past 8 weeks or so. Very little rain but plenty of sun. Herbs are doing really well. Bramble time again. Cheers all.

Really enjoying this 2019 Pommard "Les Trois Terroirs" from Domaine Michel Rebourgeon. Real dark for Pinot, masculine, earthy, cherries, red fruit, some pepper and James Forrest floor. 🍀😁 Had to get that in. Alas, almost done and another Burg awaits.

Superb Duroc Porc chops with an earthy mushroom sauce. Juicy, crunchy fat cap and earthy mushroom. The 2022 Lucien Bollot Gevrey-Chambertin for a village wine was kicking ass with the pork & sauce. Get in there.

Lovely meal at L'Art des Mets tonight. Great dishes, lobster with foie gras and artichoke, turbot with mustard sabayon, milk fed lamb with ratatouille, mango tatin, Paris Brest. Nice drinks too. Gevrey-Chambertin and Armagnac.

Don't know too much about Armagnac but this was smooth. Lots of vanilla, orange, caramel and spice. Stephen I think you would approve.

Er Pichi de Cai in a quiet part of Malaga. All locsls in here except us. Superb gambas, tuna with peppers and the best tortillitas de camarones ever. Superb.
