Could the Project of State Significance process for Macquarie Point Stadium be thrown out? In Parliament this morning, the Premier has confirmed he’s sought advice about other ways the stadium could progress. Whatever happens though, it will still need to go through Parliament.

Devils' CEO Brendon Gale has also just written to members: "The Club holds concerns about some of the elements of the report (released by the Tasmanian Planning Commission on Monday), specifically in relation to the understated benefits that the stadium will deliver."

"Further, the TPC has placed great reliance on the Gruen Report. The Tasmania FC has also reviewed this report and would also contest several of the assumptions that are relied upon in this report. We would welcome a full review of these assumptions to test their veracity."

JUST IN: The Macquarie Point Development Corporation says it's received legal advice following the release of the Draft Integrated Assessment Report. "It does not comply with the requirements of the State Policies and Projects Act 1993, contain errors of law, is argumentative

Some breaking news out of Tassie: The Premier has announced the Government will bypass the state’s planning system in a bid to get Macquarie Point Stadium built faster. The new legislation will be released next month. It’ll still need to go through both houses of Parliament.

#BREAKING: The Tasmania Devils have made two key appointments to its football department. Respected figure Derek Hine will be inaugural Head of Recruiting. Todd Patterson… who is currently at Melbourne across its AFL/AFLW programs… will be Head of List Management/Strategy.
