Update for travellers heading to Wellington Airport late at night or early morning next week - roadworks are happening on parts of SH1 in Kilbirnie during this time and there will be some diversions, so please allow extra time. More details below.

💨 WEATHER UPDATE: Due to severe winds, Air New Zealand has cancelled most flights in and out of Wellington until midday. Unfortunately this means disruptions are likely to continue throughout the day. Travellers should check with their airline for specific flight information.

💨 WEATHER UPDATE #2: All flights in and out of Wellington Airport this afternoon have been cancelled. Jetstar and Sounds Air have cancelled all flights for the remainder of the day. Disruptions are likely to continue for the coming days so please check with your airline.

💨 WEATHER UPDATE #3: All flights in and out of Wellington Airport this afternoon and evening have been cancelled, with the possible exception of QF163 from Sydney which is scheduled to land at 11:55pm. All other airlines have cancelled their flights for the remainder of the day.

🦅 FAREWELL EAGLES: It's the end of an era this Friday as our two great eagles (and Gandalf) will be flying into the sunset. It's going to be emotional, but after 12 years the time is right. We're working with Wētā Workshop on a new, unique and locally themed replacement.
