It was a beautiful day for a Field Day! I spoke about using residual herbicides for weed control in fallow at the 106th Lind Field Day. Great crowd and good questions. It is hard to find a better event for growers and researchers. See you at the 107th Lind Field Day.

For Jesse Brunner, and his no-till Washington operation, Fifth Gen Farm, the precision sprayer WEED-IT is a good fit, esp for summer fallow weed management. WEED-IT Australia Learn more about how he's using target spraying on his operation here: growiwm.org/a-deep-dive-on…

I recently visited our post-harvest Russian thistle control plots at the Lind Dryland Research Station. There was some regrowth visible 2 weeks after application, but an experimental herbicide from BASF was still providing excellent control. WSU Small Grains WSU Lind Dryland Research Station

Cash crops, along with their well-managed residues, can match or even surpass the benefits of traditional cover crops. They effectively control erosion, scavenge nutrients, disrupt pest cycles, and enhance soil health. How? Biomass production. My latest: csanr.wsu.edu/cash-crops-and…

Spring canola is blooming in the Palouse! We continue our work to identify herbicide modes of action to use with glyphosate to reduce the risk for developing glyphosate-resistant Italian ryegrass. We are also looking at a glyphosate timing study to try and avoid yield drag.
