During WWII, Superman became a symbol of American patriotism and hope. Though he didn’t fight in the war in the comic, he battled spies, saboteurs, and Nazi stand-ins, promoting the values of truth, justice, and the "American way." He also promoted War Bonds. #WeRememberThem
