Great (and warm!!) day spent with Mark Trevena and 2515 Sqn representing HIOW at the memorial for New Forest Airfields. Networking with representatives from Royal Air Force U.S. Air Force Australian Army Royal Canadian Air Force who were enthusiastic to see Cadet participation.

Started today polishing these, which means one thing. Hants IOW Wing first post covid drill competition tomorrow!

Today's been a good day! Finding out my recent DI course candidate, FS Gray recieved an Arms Drill Recommendation on their DI Course. Also, visiting the great up and coming Gosport Sqn. A Sqn on the rebuilt since pausing pre pandemic.

Christmas came early this morning with a new banner belt for Hants IOW Wing !

Fun day being IC Discip for the Connaught Trust Cadet Competition. Glad to say the RAF Air Cadets won the competition narrowly beating the Volunteer Cadet Corps Sea Cadets Army Cadets UK and Hants Police Cadets. This year I went to my village's @LyndhurstPC rememberance ceremony to remember those who sacrificed themselves so we can have the freedoms we have today. Thank you to RAF Odiham for the chinook flypast!

Tonight saw the inaugural HIOW cadet council meeting. Allowing senior cadets across the wing to have an input into the wing leadership team. Helping the Wing team hear their voices, ensuring that the cadet experience remains at the heart of what we do. Mark Trevena

Great to continue my round of meetings with RWOs and RCs last night with WO Clothier and Gp Capt Fletcher. Interesting to hear the way the region is changing and the plans for an SSDIC later in the year amongst other exciting developments.

17000 steps, some sore feet and achey legs but a great WAD for Hants IOW Wing . Congrats to 1216 (Eastleigh) Sqn ATC for winning foot drill, Sgt Street from 2515 Sqn Air Cadets winning best NCO. 457sqn for winning banner & 1024 (Isle of Wight) Sqn RAF Air Cadets for winning continuity drill!!
