† RIP Dieter Oesterhelt: The discoverer of #bacteriorhodopsin passed away on Nov. 28. He turned the light on in #biochemistry and paved the way towards #optogenetics and more with his group at the MPI for Biochemistry Max Planck Institute of Biochemistry (MPIB) as can be read in l-i-c.org/1128
