Two portraits of the actor, writer and royal mistress, Mary Robinson – one by Gainsborough, one by Reynolds – are some of the best loved paintings at Waddesdon.

Look out for us in this week’s Country Life . We’re delighted to feature in a piece about lifts in country houses by Melanie Cable-Alexander. Did you know that one of the earliest electrical passenger lifts was installed at Waddesdon - and is still on display here today!

François Boucher was born #otd in 1703. His depiction of the flagellation of Christ is unusual for Boucher as he almost never represented physical pain, preferring scenes of romance and sensuality

Moses is back from his travels in Italy. Guercino’s painting has been on display at The Scuderie del Quirinale, Rome and starred in the exhibition’s ad campaign. Moses is now home at Waddesdon and you can see him alongside Guercino’s King David when the Manor reopens on 26 March.

We recently welcomed Zenzie Tinker (textile conservators) to Waddesdon to remove and repair the silk coverings of one of the walls in the Morning Room. Here's a short timelapse of how the team went about it:

Behind every photograph is a process. Hélène Binet captures the architecture of Waddesdon and other Jewish country houses through time honoured techniques, chromogenic printing for rich tones and gelatin silver printing to create her timeless black and white photographs.

This photograph shows the preparations for the 'Baron's Treat', an annual garden party held at Waddesdon for the village and some 1300 local school children. There were marquees, performances, fairground rides and dancing into the evening.

On #worldbeeday we take a closer look at this remarkable jewelled pineapple. Made in the mid-18th century, the fruit is set with garnets and the leaves formed of serpentine marble and jade. Half way up the pineapple is a bee, carved from rock crystal, with outstretched wings.
