Bloomberg At a meeting with representatives of the world press, Amb. Aboulmagd clearly expressed full confidence in the abilities of the UAE to mobilize all stakeholders to implement impactful action, while acknowledging difficulties facing intergovernmental negotiations. 2/4

At #COP27, Egypt announced a host of initiatives covering mitigation and adaptation ambition and implementation. Most importantly, Egypt announced at #CoP27 it's intention to update it's renewable energy targets made under it's recently updated NDCs. (1/7)

Today, Egypt officially updated it's NDCs to show higher ambition through committing to achieving 42% renewables by 2030 rather than 2035. (2/7)

Reaching this target will be achieved through accelerating the scale-up of renewable energy through reducing electricity produced from fossil fuel power plants. (3/7)

NWFE is Egypt's homegrown comprehensive program dealing with Water, Food and Energy components in a holistic manner. (4/7)

It garnered great interest from development partners and this update is one of the positive outcomes of this cross-sectoral approach to addressing the climate challenge. (5/7)

The 22nd Informal Meeting on Further Actions against Climate Change, co-chaired by Japan and Brazil, started on 29th of February in Tokyo. The participants will actively discuss for two days the outlooks for #COP29, to be held in the Republic of Azerbaijan in November this year.

The 22nd Informal Meeting on Further Actions against Climate Change has concluded. Together with the Co-Chair of Brazil, Japan facilitated discussions among respective countries toward the success of #COP29, and contributed to fostering a common understanding among participants.
