How time flies: exactly 3 years ago I bit farewell as GER ambassador to IND & Bhutan - strict retirement rules left no room for exceptions. Last interviews, last meet with friends & colleagues…promised to come back (which I did) ..a thread🧵..1/4

also produced my 9th music album (“Tales of Arcadia”), available on all relevant digital platforms & wrote (with Heike Wolter) book on IND & the West/Global South (published in GER by Ullstein & in IND by Juggernaut), in both countries for several weeks on bestseller charts…3/4

…and yes, moved to Trieste (Italy), a beautiful city right on the Adriatic sea…4/4.

As musician it’s pretty difficult to detect genius in today’s rap or techno music; drum machines, vocoders & AI seem to have replaced musical skills. And then, July 2025 comes - out of the blue - an authentic west-coast rock-album by the legendary Doobie Brothers (since 1970)…
