WSU hosted a memorial for the late DVC: Institutional Support & Development, Mr Sinethemba Mpambane. A dedicated leader, he gave his all to the university’s vision. Family rep Mr Qwase thanked WSU for giving Mr Mpambane space to shine. “Your tributes comfort us,” he said.

The Walter Sisulu University Convocation Annual General Meeting is officially underway at the Zamukulungisa Site, Mthatha Campus. Current President, Dr Lunga Mantashe delivered an opening address, and set the tone for a day of reflection, renewal, and responsibility.

Also addressing the house, former Convocation President Adv Ngcukaitobi discussed the progress and challenges faced by the Convocation institution over the years, and also emphasised the importance of functioning Convocation and Alumni, noting that WSU has the most active one.

The WSU Convocation has officially elected Dr Lunga Mantashe for a second term as President. With over 3,000 votes, Dr Mantashe secured a strong and decisive mandate from alumni, reflecting trust in his leadership and the continuity of his vision.
