Little did Ricky know that his last exercise would become his ‘final shout’ to save lives at sea. Whilst out at sea, Ricky and the crew responded to a Pan Pan urgent call from a yacht taking on water just off Walton Pier.

Thankfully, the three people on the yacht were able to make their own way into Harwich harbour once the situation had been stabilised. Thank you for your 33 years of service Ricky! We wish you a very happy retirement.
