The Marquette University Biomechanics Lab was in Ramona, OK this weekend to record video at the World Athletics Invitational. It was an amazing experience with several world, area, and national records being broken. Thanks to all who helped - now off to the lab and geek outšŸ˜€

While it's been exciting to dig into the #biomechanics of the new World Athletics men's discus record, we're equally excited to analyze Yaime Perez's 73.09 m bomb, which was the best female throw since 1989! Thanks Wanda Sihanath Chris Geiser Theia Ghostfacedmillah

We packed up cameras and force plates and drove to Pittsburgh for USA Weightlifting Nationals. Emma and Wanda Sihanath even put together a poster & QR code with cool #weightlifting #biomechanics stuff. Anyone in Pittsburgh who wants to talk shop let me know, I'll buy coffee!

Had my Reddit debut this weekend!! šŸ’€šŸ˜… Luckily it wasn’t under incredibly embarrassing circumstances. Got to teach the r/weightlifting subreddit a bit about #biomechanics and had to plug what we were doing at Marquette with USAW!

Had a successful first oral presentation at ISBS Annual Conference this year! Looked at how distribution of trunk/leg lean mass could influence performance during the snatch. Read it here: commons.nmu.edu/isbs/vol42/iss… ISBS Marquette Graduate School

It's hammer #biomechanics time! The tracking is not quite there yet, and it took us longer than expected to get to this point, but thanks to our amazing grad student Emma Patterson for her perseverance. We're super excited. Happy Friday!
