Three years since Russia launched its full-scale war. Three years of Ukrainian heroism. It was an honour for me to receive the flag of the 36th Separate Marine Brigade, a witness to Ukrainians’ bravery on the battlefield. The EU will stand with Ukraine and its people, always.

The blue and yellow of Ukraine. The colours of resistance against imperialism. On the eve of this grim anniversary, they adorn our building as a symbol of our unflinching support for the Ukrainian people. Our brave neighbours, partners, and future EU members.

On the 3rd anniversary of Russia’s brutal invasion, Europe is in Kyiv. We are in Kyiv today, because Ukraine is Europe. In this fight for survival, it is not only the destiny of Ukraine that is at stake. It’s Europe’s destiny.

EU delivers: Foreign Ministers just approved the 16th package of sanctions against Russia. It hits everything from shadow fleet ships to gaming controllers used to control drones. We now have the most extensive sanctions ever, weakening Russia’s war effort.

Today marks a grim milestone. For three years, Russia has brutally attacked Ukraine, trying to steal land that isn’t theirs. Right now, more than ever, we have to support Ukraine. My doorstep ahead of today’s Foreign Affairs Council ↓

At Maidan, we honor the fallen—and those still fighting on the frontlines. Europe stands with Ukraine, empowering its brave resistance. Through strength, they will secure a just and lasting peace. A peace worthy of their ultimate sacrifice.
