Feroza still remembers the day when water surged into her home, swallowing it in minutes. Now, she lives in a makeshift tent with only a few belongings to survive one day at a time. The water tank they had also went under floodwater, creating an acute safe water crisis.

In coastal areas where salinity intrusion is already a challenge, floods make safe water scarcer. People are using contaminated floodwater for washing and cleaning, leading to itching and infections. For women, this is more painful due to vaginal infections during menstruation.
