One of the first commodities that was rationed during WWII was petrol. This helped preserve precious reserves to be used during the war effort. We found Wathall’s ration book from 1942 and a document from 1949 describing how we used petrol during this impossibly difficult time.

This year’s Annual Celebration of Remembrance and Hope will be held Derby Cathedral on Thurs 14 Dec at 6.30pm. The Service is an opportunity for people of all faiths, or no faith, to remember their loved ones and draw on the calm positivity that runs through this service.
