Eden by Sonia Overall from Weatherglass Books - what a brilliant book. Three narrative threads bring together a literature professor (Penelope), Hemingway and the voice of one of his female characters. Absolutely loved it and was gripped by Pen’s story.

Well, I loved this beauty pub’ed by Weatherglass Books (in 2022). Prose that is both sharp and confident and yet still, above all else, beautiful. I know nothing about classical music and yet I was so convincingly immersed in that world I came to care - the sign of great writing.

Amazing to have made something 30 years ago that’s still remembered. Here’s Jennifer Nine’s generous Melody Maker review of Flamingoes’ debut album Plastic Jewels from Feb ‘95 (and yes, I can recite every word to this day).
