Out of the mouths of babes! A great explanation of self-regulation, poly vagal theory and attachment all rolled into one . So wise 💜It's beautiful the things CH and YP share when we are able to slow down, show up with emotional presence and really listen youtube.com/watch?v=y62veC…

YP tell us what they need to feel safe and learn well. This report from the Children & Young People's Mental Health Coalition is clear, punitive approaches are outdated. We need to resource educators to develop relational practices, the science tells us how. Learn more about the findings: thriveapproach.com/news/punitive-…

Yes! We need to helpfully resource educators with the practice and skills that support them to notice and respond relationally to the signs of threat responses & nervous system dysregulation. Safe, emotionally regulating learning environments, means everyone is able to learn.

Building relationships with families, parents and carers is so important for creating a culture of community and belonging. Check out our new podcast to support this practice, at the beginning of a new academic year bit.ly/3P9NUnI #ThriveApproach #Edutwitter #podcast

'Social isolation has always been used in schools as a punishment but, actually, such punishments might have counterproductive effects.' Interesting and insightful article from a leading light in the field. So much sense here and a great deal to reflect upon Thrive Approach

There are many missed opportunities to repair ruptures in relationships in schools that escalate over time-often catergorised as 'low level disruption', YP became disconnected and defensive, seeking belonging wherever they can. We need informed practice and an innovative approach

Let's talk menopause. Teaching is a female-dominated profession, yet support for those going through menopause is often overlooked. Symptoms can start years before reaching 51, the UK average age, and can continue past 55. It's time to break the silence. #worldmenopauseday
