The children in year 6 have been creating prototypes for their night lights in their design and technology lessons.

The children in year 3 have been creating a short scene using Scratch Programming in computing. They can add music, backgrounds and more than one sprite to their story. They can also make their sprite dance.

In their design and technology lessons in year 1, the children have been building on their cutting skills that they learnt in reception to cut out shapes from different materials for their snake puppets.

Year 2 have been learning new French vocabulary to describe fruits. They had a fun game of 'fruit salads' in our garden area to test their new knowledge!

The children in our year 2 gardening club have transferred their sunflowers from the pots inside to the garden beds outside. They have watered and cared for them really carefully over the last couple of weeks.

The children in year 2 have been practising their cutting skills in preparation for making their own fruit salads in design and technology. Then, they made some delicious fruit kebabs to enjoy!

Last week, Reception had their first school trip to Eureka! It was a fantastic day and we learnt lots about our senses and jobs in the community. We were able to dress up and play as these roles with our friends and we had lots of fun. Our favourite role was playing the dentist.

In PE, the year 3 children have been improving their relay skills by making sure they are positioning their bodies and hands ready to take the baton from their team mates.

In preparation for their writing, year 5 had a game of muggle quidditch. They practised the rules and assigned roles just like the real game. During the following lessons, year 5 wrote an explanation text all about how to play.

In year 1, we have been experimenting with mixing primary colours to make secondary colours in art to create different moods. We have used the book "The Rainbow Fish" to inspire our work.

To understand the characters in our new book, The Astounding Broccoli Boy, we used hot seating to get to know the new characters and how they were feeling at different points in the story. We had some brilliant acting!

Year 3 have been working hard on their retrieval skills in their English lessons whilst reading texts about Wimbledon, and a famous British firefighter, Sabrina Cohen-Hatton.

The children in year 4 have been completing their art work based on the artist Janet Bolton. They have used her technique of appliqué to create their art and their next step will be to sew their composition together.

In outdoor PE, year 1 created their own obstacle courses to incorporate skills they have learnt throughout the year. They also used their sportsmanship they learnt from sports day to cheer each other on as their friends completed the course.

Year 5 took their orienteering skills to the next level. They created their own aerial map of the school, complete with coordinates and a key, and hid objects around the school grounds for their peers to find. The only clues they gave to others were the coordinates.

This term, children in year 6 have had to follow the design process to create an eye-catching night light that is aimed at primary school aged children, uses a circuit to light up in different colours and be finished to a high standard ready to be sold!

In maths, the children in year 2 have been challenging each other to measure the volume of water in different containers! They did a great job at making sure they were accurate and precise.

Today, in upper foundation, it has been our teddy bear's picnic! We have been learning about teddy bears from the past and how they have changed over time. We have found that teddy bears now are colourful and come in lots of different shapes and sizes!
