Last week, Upper Schoolers attended the Club Fair, where they had the chance to sign up for some of the organizations and clubs on campus. There’s something for everyone with over 52 choices ranging from Street & KPop Dance Club to Green Coalition to Model UN!

10 students hiked 14 miles on steep & rocky terrain on the Appalachian Trail! They learned how to treat their water, set up camp, build a fire, protect their food from bears, and navigate with a map and compass. 🏕️ #notallclassroomshavefourwalls #OutdoorEd

Last week, 8th grade BIPOC students had lunch with Upper School BIPOC students. The Middle Schoolers were inspired by the conversations they had with their older peers about life in the Upper School. Students mentoring each other builds community and we love to see it!

Sam Mihara, who was a prisoner in the Heart Mountain Japanese internment camp, came to speak to students about his experiences. He spoke about the history of the prison camps & the dangerous hysteria that fueled their creation. Thank you Sam, for sharing your account with us.

Congratulations to 8th grader Jamila, who was invited to compete in a Black History Month oratorical contest at Penncrest High School. Jamila competed against five high school students and took home the grand prize with her performance of her original poem. Excellent work! 👏👏👏
