#HumpBack whales each has its own unique pattern on the underside of its tail flukes, used to ID them, much like a fingerprint. #whalewatching #sciencesaveswhales #hermanuswhales Whale Watching SA

Adult whales usually mate in SA's warmer waters from June- Oct while pregnant females seek spots in calm bays to give birth The calves learn migration routes from their moms and If the route is not altered they will return one day to where they were born. Whale Watching SA

Southern Right Whales slap their tails on the surface of the water possibly for communication, or it can be an expression of discomfort or just to play😆🐳 #whalewatching Whale Watching SA

Advice from the Ocean: Be shore of yourself. Come out of your shell. Take time to relax and coast. Avoid pier pressure. Sea life's beauty. Don't get tide down. Make waves! 📷📷 - Author Unknown Whale Watching SA

Only a short time until the end of the #whalewatching season and some whales have already started their long journey back to Antartica. However the sightings are still spectacular! You can still join a trip Whale Watching SA

We had a very rare sighting yesterday where a Humpback , & a Southern Right whale swam together Looking closely the fishing line which entangled the SR whale is still visible. #whalewatching #WHALES Whale Watching SA Photo: Martin Etsebeth
