🎶 Did you know #blues legend Cousin Joe was born on Whitney Plantation in 1908? From working the same fields his family had been enslaved on to performing with jazz greats like Cab Calloway, his story shows how deeply Louisiana's culture is rooted in the #history of slavery.

On Feb. 1, Whitney Plantation will be closed in honor of National Freedom Day, which marks the start of #BlackHistoryMonth.
