From speaking up for children’s early years in Parliament to meeting young farmers, charities, and community groups across Derbyshire Dales, last week was all about listening to local voices and standing up for those working hard to support others. Here's what I was up to 👇

The strength of concern over the potential closure of the Eco-Centre was evident in a meeting attended by local stakeholders. I’m pleased the meeting was a constructive one, and I hope a solution can be found to keep this much needed, and much loved, community space open.

A big thank you to John Whitby MP for visiting us this week and hearing more about the work we do at Mount Cook. Local representatives seeing the importance of outdoor education first hand is invaluable. ...and well done for braving the zip wire!

It was a pleasure to take part in a trip on a heritage narrowboat with the Friends of the Cromford Canal this week. Canals are such a central part of our industrial heritage and the restoration of canals will create major benefits to tourism across our region.
