I have no idea whether it’s the guy on the left with his arms in the air and his sporran in full swing or the (completely panelled) one on the right with his arse hanging out of his kilt, but this cover illustration from Traditional Dancing in Scotland never fails to amuse me.

Have your finances ever reached a point so parlous that you look at your shopping list and think 'Do I really need trousers?' Mine just have. Brace yourselves for a trouserless summer.

Spent a while this morning trying to repair this antique globe with cable ties and gorilla glue. I’m sure there’s some sort of erudite and witty metaphor about the state of the world but I’m too lazy/stupid to think of anything.

Help required - facsimile reprint of Songs of Innocence and Experience, no publisher’s details or date. Guessing it’s about 1860 - 1890.

A while ago I sent a copy of my first book to Abdul, one of the people who regularly calls me with great offers. Sadly he gave me a fake address and it was returned, so if there’s an Abdul out there who makes nuisance calls and wants a free copy they’re welcome to it.
