For #InternationalArtistDay, and as we are awash with rain, we’re sharing this painting by Mark Spray, ‘Between Me and the Blessed Rain’ (2016). The title is from Edward Thomas’s poem ‘Go Now’. Both artists were inspired by the Hampshire landscape.

For #EYAUnique we’ve chosen a Great Seal of Henry V from a document dated 1422. This very rare seal was a new design made to reflect his status as ‘Heres Regni Francie,’ as created by the Treaty of Troyes of 1420. #ExploreYourArchive

J.M.W. Turner died #OTD in 1851. We have one of his watercolours in our collection – 'Neuwied and Weissenthurm on the River Rhine', 1817. As we approach the shortest day of the year, a reminder that balmy summer days will return! #ArtHistory #Watercolours
