The children across the school enjoyed a wonderful morning’s entertainment with a visiting pantomime - Jack and the Beanstalk. It was very loud, lots of fun and a lovely British tradition that the children experienced. 🫘 🐮 🌱 🥚

In today’s English lesson, Badgers are exploring settings and trying to decode clues about their new class text. What could it be?

Some more clues for Badgers about their new class text in today’s English lesson. They are trying to work out where the setting could be, the genre of the story and why they have come to these conclusions. All will be revealed tomorrow!

Squirrels have been learning about the dreams and achievements of Dr. Mae Jemison this week and we have written lots of questions in our letters to her. Here are a few examples. Did you see any shooting stars? Was there anything you didn’t like about being in space?

Badgers came into a darkened classroom, illuminated only by strings of sparkling lights. Sweet floral smells drifted across the room & there was the sound of crickets & running water in the distance. What could all of this be about? More clues about the setting for our writing.

We had a music workshop with Music Squad where every child had the opportunity to try out group keyboard lessons. What a fun session! Spot the child who moved in the panoramic photo! 🤣

In today’s Science lesson on ‘Sound’, Badgers’ class made a string telephone to investigate how sounds travel over a longer distance. You could try this experiment at home!

These Badgers had a great morning, participating in a wheelchair awareness workshop provided by Go Kids Go! It was harder than it looked, playing tag on wheels! They learnt to do a wheelie to get over door thresholds. 🦽

Badgers are exploring the work of Japanese artist Hokusai, and Hawaiian artist Margaret Godfrey, to gather ideas for representing Mt. Vesuvius as part of our Roman topic.

Badgers are experimenting with printing with bubble wrap to create texture. This will be used in a collaborative piece as part of our work on mosaics and collage. 🎨 🖌️ 🖼️
