Will Venable called it a special day to manage a victory in his first game. “It feels good.” Clearly meant a lot to the team too, could hear the celebration in the clubhouse after. #WhiteSox CBS Chicago

For someone from the dusty ol' desert town of Fallon, NV (Grew up near Naval Air Station Fallon—yep, THAT Top Gun place), Ben Dooley's nailing the "California Cool" swag! #RamsHouse #BoiseState

Great news, your kids have the chance to go to football camp with a pro for FREE this summer. 🏈 Miami Dolphins running back and former Boise State star Alexander Mattison is bringing his I AM GIFTED camp back to the Treasure Valley next month! The camp is on June 21 at Kuna

Most school are still figuring out their model in this new era of college athletics. If you’re going Pro, this is just how it works. Probably what’s in the best interest for everyone, especially the athletes.

Winston Venable (@winstonvenable) 's Twitter Profile Photo

18-22 years olds signing away on contracts without any outside legal review. Scary deal and not what’s best for the athletes. Couple years later while pursuing professional sport their representation handles this business transaction. Education needs to start now, Pro starts now

Winston Venable (@winstonvenable) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Rules, limits, and payment structures are being set, but athletes don’t have a seat at the table. Most don’t even realize what’s happening. This is big business. And a big concern for student-athletes. CBA indeed.

Coach Hanson (@reghanson) 's Twitter Profile Photo

The athletes definitely need counsel before signing the NIL contract. There needs to be a standard language contract for all.

Winston Venable (@winstonvenable) 's Twitter Profile Photo

2021 was authentic NIL. As soon as collectives entered into the picture it turned performance based. Just because players were required to do some events along the way, that had nothing to do with their compensation level given to them. It’s been pay to play for a long time. Pro

Right now, many school NIL deals lock athletes in, not free them up. Athletes need to understand what they’re really signing. apnews.com/article/house-…

Winston Venable (@winstonvenable) 's Twitter Profile Photo

These ‘in-house agencies’ are about one thing: control. This isn’t empowerment, it’s consolidation, and a major conflict of interest.

Winston Venable (@winstonvenable) 's Twitter Profile Photo

It’s not revenue-based. It’s control-based. That’s why collectives are going in-house. That’s why schools want donor money under their roof. The landscape is a mess.

Tennessee AD: "We have to stop pretending that they are not getting compensated for playing for us." Other ADs in denial 🤷‍♂️ These are employee contracts with: 💰 Buyout clauses ⚖️ Liquidated damages 🔄 Claw backs 🏥 Injury terminations. #NIL NEWSLETTER: linkedin.com/pulse/newslett…

This isn’t NIL. It’s a rookie deal… for an OL still in high school. The game has changed, and most families have no idea what they’re walking into.

Winston Venable (@winstonvenable) 's Twitter Profile Photo

I feel for the student-athletes. The leaders of the programs don’t even know what’s going on: “We don’t know the rules.” “I don’t understand what rules everybody is playing by.” Imagine being 18 and trying to figure it out. sports.yahoo.com/college-footba…

6 years today since Dan Paul passed. My brother. The original Hammer. Blue Collar. The ultimate Bronco. Tough as they come. The Hammer was named after him for a reason — he set the standard. I’ll never stop telling his story. #DP47

Aug 1 = a new chapter in recruiting. For the first time, high school seniors can legally receive revenue-sharing contracts from universities. 17 and 18 year-olds navigating a whole new world. on3.com/nil/news/what-…
