💡 DNA itself isn't visible in an agarose gel. A fluorescent stain is added to bind to DNA, making it glow under UV or blue light. This lab had many challenges (so many supplies needed & components taking longer than a class period). But we got DNA bands for Wolbachia & bands for a good number of insects. So I am glad we did this lab! 🙂
