Football Camp 2023 Put on by our school’s football coaching staff and players, WFS Football Camp is a great opportunity for boys to improve their skills, knowledge of the game, and build friendships to last for years to come!

This week we took some time to recognize and appreciate the men and women of our amazing staff. Events this week included food trucks, concerts, and of course some competition with a softball game and cornhole tournament. Thank you, Woodberry staff!

Woodberry in Oxford The theme of the 2023 trip was “Signs of Ancient Rome in Britain.” The group visited Roman historical sites such as Bath, Chedworth Villas, and the British Museum. As the group traveled, students were tasked with exploring a chosen aspect of British culture.

Happy first day of class! The 135th school year is officially underway.

The AP Physics 1 exam is statistically the most difficult of all 38 exams the College Board offers. In 2023, the 17 Woodberry 3rd formers who took the exam all passed. Therefore, the class earned the opportunity to give their teacher Mr. Jacobs a haircut/style of their choice.

Fourth Formers visit the Fralin Art Museum at the University of Virginia English classes made the trip to Charlottesville for a tour and to participate in the Writer’s Eye creative writing contest hosted by the museum.

WFS Skeet defeats Hampden-Sydney College The two all-male institutions faced off for a friendly match this past weekend and the Tigers came out on top 86-85. Hampden-Sydney’s team captain (and WFS alumnus) Wills Jannerbo was the medalist of the event with a high score of 22/25.

Pickleball Goes Pink for Breast Cancer Research Donation Mr. Eric Hicks of the science department and head tennis coach coordinated the event which brought out twenty- two teams who competed on the courts and for best-dressed.

WFS Wrestling joins Halloween Book Giveaway For the past fourteen years, St. Thomas Episcopal Church has given away free books to the Orange Co. children during Halloween. This year, our boys joined the effort and helped distribute books to the trick-or-treaters.

Victory Monday On a glorious Veterans Day, the Tigers defeated the Maroon 34-28. Thanks to everyone who came to support and to those who cheered on from afar. Go Tigers!

Taylor Hall Renovation Update This week, boys were given the opportunity to sign a beam that will be installed in the new connector between Taylor and Turner Hall. Both projects began in the summer with both scheduled to open next fall.
