Some news from our #Reception classes.

Year 1 had so much fun on their trip to the Think tank Birmingham. We explored different materials, learnt about the human body and experimented with water.

Year 1 have been looking at number lines to 20 and finding 1 more and 1 less than a number

Year 1 having been counting in tens today using natural resources.

For World Book Day, Year 1 looked at the book ‘The Oak Tree’ by Julia Donaldson and ⁦Victoria Sandøy⁩. We made tree sculptures and stop motion films.

Year 1 have been enjoying their sculpture and 3D art unit Kapow Primary Today they have been folding and rolling paper to make 3D drawings. #Art #Kapow #Year1

A day of giant swings, abseiling for some, pretending to be birds, raft building and a campfire to finish! Tired but happy children (and adults!)

And group 2 abseiled, swung and rafted! There may have been some wet feet….and that was just Miss Battams!

Woodvale went #SportyForty for #ComicRelief2025. We started with the #HokeyCokey by Black Lace (40 years old this year), 40 seconds of skipping, 40 ball passes and a 40m relay. Great fun was had by all although it got a bit competitive at times (the staff more than the children).
