34PW Exploring the Forest today

5/6S had a great time at sports day this morning. Thank you to all the parents and carers who were able to attend.

In 5/6S, we have been learning about Darwin’s finches and how these gave him ideas about evolution. The children investigated how effective different beak shapes might be in helping a bird to catch food.

3/4R enjoyed spending time in the wildlife area yesterday!

This morning 1C have been getting to grips with money! The children have worked practically to identify coins before counting amounts.

Year 3 are really enjoying their trip to Leeds Museum! This morning some of us have taken part in a workshop where we carefully handled artefacts from Asia and explored its history by finding clues to solve questions. We are looking forward to learning more later on! 🔍

After drying off and warming up, Reception celebrated their first Sports Day in school with their unique medals. Thank you to everyone who came to support, the children had a lovely morning despite the rain.

More photos from the Year 3 trip to Leeds Museum! We really enjoyed exploring the Ancient collection where we saw a real Egyptian mummy and other artefacts. We were even praised by the public for our calm and respectful manner when walking around the museum!

34PW - fantastic work to divide by 10 and 100 today!

We have been learning about linear maps and had a go at drawing one for the story of Little Red Riding Hood. They have also been describing their journey from home to school.

Some of our children in Reception have been inspired by our maps drawing and have decided to build a 3D map of a city. They used prepositions and clear instructions to work collaboratively.

Our class text is Flotsam by David Wiesner, we have been using our imagination to create pictures that might have been found on the camera. I was very impressed with what 2C created.

Y2 children had a special visitor this afternoon to teach us about sun safety ☀️

Year 5/6 had a fantastic time today during our pantomime workshop!

The Year 6 pupils had a great time at their leavers’ party this afternoon.
