“Mulberries or Morules” - nice cytomorphology of an “Epithelioid Mesothelioma” in pleural effusion. Macronucleoli are truly impressive. (Cytospin)

FAIRLY easy to find perineural invasion (PNI) in histology of Adenoid Cystic Carcinoma (AdCC). Here is an image from a parotid AdCC with neural tissue caught in the middle of the tumor, most likely reflective of PNI.

“Too Big To Handle” - A large psammoma body engulfed by a multinucleated histiocyte, juxtaposed to cells of “Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma” (on the left). (FNA)

A cell videoed through a microscope. The powerhouses/overlords of the cell, mitochondria, are shown in yellow. The nucleus is shown in cyan and actin filaments are shown in magenta. #CellBiology

"Tails and Holes" (and eccentric & double nuclei) - All seen in a single case of "Melanoma" aspirated from a pancreatic lesion. (EUS-FNA)

"Multinucleated giant histiocytes" although quite eye-catching, have no real pathologic significance in FNAs of Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma. This one, turned out to be a "tall cell" subtype.

🎇🧧新年快乐!🏮🧨 Happy Year of the Snake. This is a case of strongyloides in a BAL, but it was the closest thing I could find in a teaching case! Wishing everyone strength and renewal in 2025!

Despite the low power appearance of a lymphocytic background with oncocytic-appearing epithelium, the presence of high N/C ratio cells with macronucleoli argue against the dx of a Warthin tumor. An AR+ IHC confirmed the final FNA diagnosis of "Salivary Duct Carcinoma". (Parotid)

Life is strange. You arrive with nothing, spend your whole life chasing everything, and still leave with nothing. Make sure your soul gains more than your hands.
