As today sees the release of Welcome to Wrexham in the UK, it’s time to set a few records straight. The real reason that Spencer Harris had to resign from the board of the WST and the football club was because he accused me of being a felon (someone convicted of a serious crime).

He also said that I wasn’t “his vice chairman”, said that he didn’t trust me and accused me of leaking information from board meetings on Red Passion using an account called Wrexham Vito which I can prove wasn’t me.

The WST board knew nothing about Spencer playing table tennis on The Racecourse pitch underneath the floodlights until we received an email from a member asking about it. This was during the pandemic and broke covid laws at the time, he also didn’t ask permission for it from us.

During the board meeting to decide whether to sack Bryan Hughes or not, Spencer tried every way possible to convince us not to sack him for over four hours, we eventually decided by one vote to sack him.

Spencer held all the meetings with Rob and Ryan on his own, the board requested that he take minutes of the meetings to present to the board which he never did. All of these actions led to four board members writing resignation letters saying that they couldn’t work with Spencer

Spencer acted as though he was chairman of the club and absolutely hated any sort of criticism and would quickly try to move on to the next item during board meetings. He constantly spoke at length, hated being interrupted and would constantly talk over people.

Spencer behaved irrationally, would not listen to other peoples views and treated the club as his personal kingdom. In the end all of this ultimately led to his downfall and he was forced to resign.
