Former Tweeps! Did you work on AI Safety* features like watermarking, data consent, explicit content? Please apply 👇 apply.workable.com/huggingface/j/… *Not the Effective Altruism-laden-AI-Safety. I'm hesitant to use the "AI Safety" term.

'There are big issues with representation' in AI says Sarah Wyer. 'When you look at the cost of training an LLM, you can see why they only do it once'. But what was it trained on? What are the consequences of training an LLM on Reddit posts and Wikipedia? #GenAIDurham23

My brother did a foundation degree in his late 30s, he went on to get a first in his Bachelors degree, aced his master's degree and now has a great job at the University. I cannot stress enough that this saved and changed his life and the life of his kids.

A culture of systemic discrimination produces this as output. It may be that no one involved did anything most techies would agree is "wrong". That's the whole problem, that's what makes discrimination systemic. Exclusion & alienation by default are the norm of what's *right*.
