Recently, the Kenya regional leadership conducted a visit to the Brothers of St. James Community in Lodwar and St. Patrick’s Community in Nadapal, South Sudan. During the visit, they engaged with Brothers, offering encouragement and support of their mission.

In early March, two of our schools participated in a Génie en herbe competition with 11 other schools in Kipushi, Congo. Students at Complexe Scolaire Rijken won the silver medal and Institut Furaha (directed by Br François Musongo) won the gold medal.

From March 9-13, 78 juniors from the 13 Xaverian Brothers Sponsored Schools gathered at the Holy Family Retreat Center in West Hartford, CT, for the annual XBSS Junior Retreat. #XBSS

Recently, Mr. Francis Masicha, Co-Director of the Ryken Center for Hope, met with students at St. Xavier High School, Bungoma after school. The group enjoyed an afternoon of sharing and reflection. The students in this group had gone through the program. #XaverianBrothersKenya

On Wednesday, April 9th, Brothers, Associates, friends and donors gathered for the Theodore James Ryken Society Luncheon at Vesuvio Restaurant in Brooklyn, NY. Stephanie Stricker welcomed and thanked our guests for their generosity which sustains and grows our missions.

On April 12th Brother Regis Moynihan, a 1952 graduate of St. John's in Worcester, was among five people honored for service to the school and presented with an award by Dr. Ben Horgan.

On April 11th, the Xavier High School community gathered for a tree dedication ceremony in memory of Brother Thomas Ryan, C.F.X.

On April 19, Brothers and Postulants in Kenya gathered for a reflection and sharing session. Later that evening, they attended Easter Vigil Mass at the Chapel of Marist International University College. The following day they enjoyed a meal to celebrate Easter together.

On Thursday, May 15th, the Rijken School Complex in Kipushi, Congo, held its Open Day event. At the event, several projects were exhibited by students from the General Electricity, Commercial and Management, Cutting and Sewing Techniques, and Scientific departments.

Last fall, the Rijken School in Kipushi, Congo initiated a catechism program for children who had expressed a desire to receive the sacrament of baptism and/or First Communion. #XaverianBrothersCongo

We are proud to share that former Sant Zaveryen (Haiti) Student, Cenat Esperandieu, received an award on July 10th at the 2025 World Leaders Summit of Love and Peace, in celebration of the International Day of Hope.

On July 9, Brothers Louis Calmel, Michael Foley, Kenney Gorman and Ward O’Connell joined more than 160 Flaget alumni and family members at the Flaget Museum for a special gathering. The luncheon honored alumni that passed away in the past year, including Br. Daniel Conaghan, CFX.

Recently, the Spiritan and Xaverian novices gathered for a retreat in Congo. Our Xaverian novices ask for your prayers as they prepare for the next step of their vocation. Our Kenyan novices returned to Kenya and took their first profession of vows on Saturday, July 12.
