The final paper is Qian Huang 黄倩 discussing Zhang Zhehan's cancellation (Qian is also presenting on behalf of Erika Ningxin Wang). Their book Fandom Nationalism: Participatory Censorship and Performative Patriotism is an excellent study into specifically Chinese fandom.

A thought-provoking point from Zhen Ye’s talk on behalf of Qian Huang 黄倩 & Tonny Krijnen💡Their paper on playful governance on Douyin highlights how Chinese platforms govern content creators rather than the content itself—quite a contrast to the Western approach. #AoIR2024

Our third speaker is Qian Huang 黄倩 (and Erika N. Wang) talking about fandom nationalism specifically in relation to Zhang Zhehan. Their book (of the same name as the presentation) is published by Bloomsbury.
