The final paper is Qian Huang 黄倩 discussing Zhang Zhehan's cancellation (Qian is also presenting on behalf of Erika Ningxin Wang). Their book Fandom Nationalism: Participatory Censorship and Performative Patriotism is an excellent study into specifically Chinese fandom.

A thought-provoking point from Zhen Ye’s talk on behalf of Qian Huang 黄倩 & Tonny Krijnen💡Their paper on playful governance on Douyin highlights how Chinese platforms govern content creators rather than the content itself—quite a contrast to the Western approach. #AoIR2024
