Ask other "prover networks" - how they match requestors and provers? (centralized) - how they scale up proving to meet demand? (they scale up their AWS account or plug in machines) - how they plan to incentivize prover? (it's permissioned) .Boundless is the real deal

A fairer description of these protocols is "distributed provers". They rely on a centralized orchestrator to distribute workloads across any machines. .Boundless is the universal ZK protocol in part because it provides a decentralized market for any distributed prover

So are these other prover networks actually networks? I mean yes, the bar for "network" is very low i.e. "connected computers" They're networks in the same way that blockchains are databases That doesn't mean they're designed with the guarantees you expect from onchain systems
