This study is a collaboration between the ICU department at Unispital_USZ and Department of Quantitative Biomedicine. In this work, we dive into postoperative delirium phenotypes using explainable ML to cluster disease trajectories. We aim to enhance our understanding of delirium and improve patient care🩺.

Last week, I wrapped up my review work for Machine Learning for Healthcare. It's inspiring to see the growing community in machine learning for healthcare and the high quality of the papers I reviewed. Excited for the future of this field! 🤩🤩🤩

The one paper I can't stop thinking about from #CHI2024 is the nocebo effect paper: "The Placebo effect is robust to negative descriptions of AI". This was really stellar work with wide ramifications for the field. Should've gotten Best Paper. arxiv.org/abs/2309.16606
