Satie wrote this cabaret song as a cakewalk, one of the first European composers influenced by early American jazz. The song blends playful innocence & subtle eroticism, & depicts the social dynamics of the time, where the wealthy & fashionable flocked to see music hall Divas.

'pièces froides' - cold pieces, or perhaps cold rooms? Satie wrote this whilst living in an unheated room that was so small he called it a 'cupboard.' On cold nights he kept warm by sleeping fully dressed with clothing piled on top of him. Chapeau Satie platoon.lnk.to/chapeau-satie

The beautiful Estrellita by Manuel Ponce - I recorded the song with AILYN PÉREZ on her Mi Corazón album. It inspired me to bring this solo version to audiences on my USA tour starting later this month. The guitar is by French luthier Amélie Bouvret.
