“Organisations like YARID demonstrate that locally driven solutions are not only effective but essential for sustainable humanitarian response.” #YARID’s model is featured in alliancemagazine in an article written by our ED, Robert Hakiza. alliancemagazine.org/feature/the-ya…

Play isn't just fun — it's powerful.🪁⚽🎨 In Uganda, Street Child and YARID Uganda, used play-based teaching to help over 3,600 refugee children build the foundational skills they need to thrive in school and beyond. ✏️ #InternationalDayOfPlay #ChoosePlayEveryDay, #IDOP2025

Children thrive when they feel safe. On the Day of the African #Child, we share a glimpse into YARID’s Child-Friendly Space in #Kampala, where children learn & play while #mothers & #caregivers build skills in tailoring, English, ICT and more. This made possible by Hilton Foundation

𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 #WRD2025, we hosted a Cultural Gala in #Kampala with participants from 8 nationalities. Thank you to everyone who made this an unforgettable day & a true celebration of cultural diversity! Read the full post on LinkedIn linkedin.com/feed/update/ur… Hilton Foundation.

How do you report a case to police? What should you do if arrested? Tomorrow 9–11:30AM, #YARID hosts a Community Dialogue with LC1 & Police to answer urgent questions on rights, safety & access to support in Kampala. Followed by football with SWB Uganda! ⚽️ #WRD2025

Yesterday, 150+ participants engaged with police and LC1s at YARID Uganda to ask pressing questions, including how to report assault or theft, what to do in emergencies, and how to navigate their rights. A timely and vital dialogue backed by Hilton Foundation. linkedin.com/feed/update/ur…

We're grateful to be have been profiled among 30 prominent NGOs across Africa working to expand opportunities for refugees. Thank you, David Barnard, for amplifying our refugee-led response this #WRD2025

This #WRD2025, we gave back to the community. With support from Hilton Foundation, we donated Mama Kits, sugar, soap and a printer to Kisenyi Health Center, run by Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA). We're grateful to the Kampala Capital City Authority (KCCA) for their open door policy and commitment to care for all.

From #WRD2025 in #Nakivale, youth showcased businesses they’ve started with the support from YARID Uganda, from shoes & soap to yogurt. A milestone moment for #youth made possible through #RETI, a 9 partner consortium, led by Muni University in partnership w/ Mastercard Foundation

Last week, we commemorated #WRD2025 in Kyaka II. In #solidarity with those unable to attend, we visited health facilities across the settlement & reached admitted patients with sugar, rice & soap. We support children’s education in Kyaka II with Education Cannot Wait & Street Child.

We joined Innovations for Poverty Action for a #workshop to co-develop a #ToR for the #2Gen Approach that guides our work. When caregivers thrive, children do too & vice versa. Innovations for Poverty Action brought together Hilton Foundation supported partners to align on how to better support both generations.

Our ED Robert Hakiza joined local partners for a Governance and Leadership session hosted by Street Child. With CEO Tom Bannett leading, we explored what shared values, accountability & real collaboration look like, especially in supporting children’s education.
