October is Dyslexia Awareness month! I made two bulletin boards, one for my classroom and one for the rest of the school to enjoy. I just hope my students remember me when they become as successful as some of the people displayed! #coppellMLI #cmswWranglers

People with dyslexia are intelligent and usually have strengths in other areas such as creativity and problem solving. They SEE printed language the way people without dyslexia see it. Their brain processes print differently and dyslexia therapy helps remediate it. #CoppellMLI

People with dyslexia see things the way anyone else does. However, their brain processes print differently. Dyslexia therapy helps them engage the left hemisphere and remediates the deficit. #CoppellMLI

Even though I’ve been a Dyslexia Therapist for 22 years, there are always things to learn as the research continues. I attended this full day Saturday conference and am excited to implement new strategies! ⁦@coppellisd⁩ #CoppellMLI
