Year 2 had a lovely day at the Walker Art Gallery. They were excellent art detectives and worked in teams to create a piece based on Tim Head’s ‘Cow Mutations’. Springwell Park🧡

We have had a fantastic science day, learning all about adapting and changing by building bridges, making blooming flowers and with a Diet Coke and mentos experiment 🧑‍🔬👩‍🔬🥼Thank you so much to Miss Boughey and Mr Humphrey for organising our wonderful day Springwell Park🧡

For science day, we took part in an exciting assembly, made bridges using only paper, made flowers bloom in water and created our own explosions! What a day!

We looked amazing in our Easter bonnets yesterday! Thank you to all our grown ups who helped us 🐣👒

This week we have been learning about fractions. Today we worked practically to explore quarters in different ways.

Earlier this week, Year 2 performed an assembly about Florence Nightingale for their grown ups. They worked so hard and were absolutely amazing 🤩 Well done Year 2 we are so proud of you 👏 Springwell Park🧡

2S had a lovely day at Martin Mere yesterday. A wild walk, learning about mammals, seeing all the birds and a trip to the adventure playground. We are so proud of you! Springwell Park🧡

Thank you to J from Active Sefton for our smoothie making workshop yesterday. We learnt all about healthy food choices and got to make and try a smoothie 😁🍏🍊🍎🍉🍐🫐

We’ve had a wonderful day making healthy wraps. We learnt how to use a knife safely to cut up foods and added our choice of toppings to our wraps before eating and evaluating them 😊🥒🥬🧀🫑🍅

As part of our science lesson today, we dissected some seeds and then planted our own sunflowers 🌻

Mrs Sefton was so impressed by the girls in Year 2 Springwell🧡 who were inspired by the assembly and wanted to go litter picking! Springwell Park🧡 #generationrestoration 🥰

While we are learning about plants in Year Two, we have been looking after our own tomato plants. Ask your child about the parts of a plant. Springwell Park🧡

In maths, we used measuring balances to compare the mass of classroom objects.

Today for our science lesson, we went on a plant hunt. We found plants that live in sunny places and those that live in shade. Springwell Park🧡 #ks1 #science
