Year 5 have produced some amazing art in the style of Julian Opie, thinking about appropriate blocking of colour and selecting the best media for the job! Next we will produce our final piece- a portrait of a Tudor monarch. 🎨

Year 3 have created raised prints of buildings in the village of Middleton. First they drew a simple design, then they used cardboard to make their raised print. Next they rolled printing ink over their designs and printed onto their chosen painted colours.

Yenton welcomed third year medical students from Birmingham University. They taught some pupils first aid and what medical workers do for us. Students even taught us how to wash our hands correctly.

Year Three enjoyed the delicious vanilla cupcakes 🧁 that they made. Children shared them with their favourite cuddlies and friends at a sunshine filled Teddy Bear’s Picnic.

🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳 Year 3 visited forest school in preparation for writing a forest setting description. Children captured sentences using specific targets. We can’t wait to write in our books tomorrow! 🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳☀️🌳

Year 2 had a busy, fun filled day at Conkers. We enjoyed a minibeast hunt, 4D cinema and had a fantastic journey on the Conkerchoo train! We even played on the playground and enjoyed guessing what was along the sensory trail. The children were brilliant!

Our Head Girl, Joy, has been learning how to play ‘We’ll meet again’ by Dame Vera Lynn. Enjoy.

Year 3 had a great geography field trip visiting Middleton Village and it’s church. Pupils made observational drawings, compared village life to city life and completed a traffic count before enjoying games on the Village Green.

We’ve been reading Planet Omar in class and finding out all about the author.

Key Stage 1 Awards Assembly. Well done everyone!

Year Three have been exploring various arthropods, insects and spiders in class this morning. Children have learnt about exoskeletons, how insects defend themselves, what they eat and their benefits to the environment and soil.

Year 5 have created Tudor houses in DT this week. We developed our measuring and sawing skills to create a secure frame. We think they look fantastic

Year 5 received their gifts of a dictionary today from Wylde Green Rotary Club. We are extremely grateful to have this wonderful tool for learning, that will see us through into year 6 and beyond.

Year 3 have made predictions about our new vehicle text. We’ve been wondering what it’s going to be about. Can you make any guesses?

Year 2 had a fantastic Indian themed day tasting different breads from around the world and making a cucumber raita sauce. They said they loved it! Look at some of the beautiful rangoli art they designed! They still have an Indian dance workshop to look forward to.

Year 3 have been potion making and reading William Shakespeare’s Midsummer Night’s Dreams

Year Three explored the work of Romero Britto for Children’s Art Week. Today, they transferred their brilliant designs onto their t-shirts using textile markers. What a great behaviour treat!
