Thrilled to share our new work on local genetic correlation🍾. We introduce a new method SUPERGNOVA (with a silent 'g') that is robust to local LD and arbitrary GWAS sample overlap. Wonderful collaboration with @YiliangTracy & Hongyu Zhao at Yale biorxiv.org/content/10.110…

Excited to see this work out led by Yixuan Ye Yale School of Public Health in Circulation: Genomic and Precision Medicine! 1. New PRSs incorporating function annotations for CAD, AF, T2D, lipids outperform existing scores. 2. Those at high PRS v others may derive similar relative but ↑ absolute benefit from lifestyle modification.

Thank you for your great effort in this work, Hongyu Zhao Pradeep Natarajan and the team!!! The video is really cool, thank Circulation: Genomic and Precision Medicine!

📣NEW RELEASE including: * Our first set of PGS developed using SNP functional annotations (AnnoPred) submitted by Yixuan Ye & Hongyu Zhao 👉 pgscatalog.org/publication/PG… * Genome-wide PGS for 3 glycemic traits from MAGIC via Ji Chen & Inês Barroso 👉 pgscatalog.org/publication/PG…

Excited to share our latest in Nature Cardiovascular Research Does frequency of depressed mood modify polygenic risk of CAD, T2D, + AF? (And does it do so independent of lifestyle/health behaviors?) nature.com/articles/s4416…

Up next is Yixuan Ye from Hongyu Zhao's group Yale University. We are excited to have Yixuan speak to us about her latest work on developing new polygenic risk scores to predict genetic risks! Join us next Monday at 1 p.m. via zoom: uni-sydney.zoom.us/j/87073953355

Another exciting collaboration between Yale Neurology, Biostats Yale School of Public Health and Yale Pepper Center. In this GWAS, we show that common genetic variation significantly influences the risk of frailty. Take a look! pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36928559/ Yixuan Ye Kevin Sheth Thomas Gill Hongyu Zhao

Thank you Guido J. Falcone MD, ScD, MPH and Hongyu Zhao for the great guidance and everyone for the excellent contributions!

Excited to share that our frailty work has been selected as an Honorable Mention for the 2024 GeroScience Outstanding Publication Award! 🎉 A huge thank you to Hongyu Zhao and Guido J. Falcone MD, ScD, MPH for all the support! (link.springer.com/journal/11357/…) GeroScience

Delighted to collaborate with J. Hu and Hongyu Zhao to show that genetic mechanisms leading to a high CAD polygenic risk score are heterogeneous, which may have implications for prevention journals.plos.org/ploscompbiol/a… PLOS Comp Biol
