New paper online! With @DieenJaap, Jia and Huub in Journal of Biomechanics, free access before 29/11: authors.elsevier.com/c/1huqV4-6-e5rj. Intervertebral disc lesion resulted in acute changes in disc bending mechanics, which started to become noticeable during a small range of motion.

Here’s a fun STEM project: make a paper horse that walks on its own using physics. Thanks to the incline, gravity and their structure, the horses walk by rocking back and forth on their curved legs.

The first step of my PhD project. We found the vestibular stimulation caused phasic, vertebral level specific modulation of paraspinal muscle activity, which was mirrored between left, lower and right, upper vertebral levels. Now the paper is online Journal of Physiology
