Arrived in beautiful Budva, Montenegro for last Western Balkans Ministerial Home Affairs Forum of my mandate. Time to look back at successes on the path to EU accession, and forward to addressing shared migration and security challenges.

It's official: North Macedonia is observer in the European Migration Network - I witnessed the signing ceremony in Budva today. Good news! Western Balkan partners are very important and it’s necessary to cooperate closely to manage migration together.

Great to meet Prime Minister Milojko Spajić. Montenegro is making truly excellent progress on the path to Europe and is stepping up actions to strenghten the rule of law. Impressed by the high ambition to fight corruption, money laundering and organised crime.

Exellent to meet minister  Danilo Saranovic. He hosted a great Western Balkans Ministerial Forum yesterday. Today in our talks on the fight against organised crime I was impressed by the measures to reform police recruitment, to counter corruption, and build trust.

Congratulations dear Valdecy Urquiza on your election as the next Secretary General of Interpol! Having met you two weeks ago in Brazil, I know you’re going to do a great job. Interpol has very important tasks and I am looking forward to our cooperation.

77 child rights organisations call on us to protect children from sexual violence - also with the new EU laws I proposed to 1️⃣ prevent and fight abuse and 2️⃣ increase criminal punishment. It's time to join forces to protect children.

The citizens of Romania and Bulgaria belong to Schengen and deserve to fully benefit from Schengen freedoms. Today we took an important step towards a positive Council decision next month;
