Your references are like your diet. Feed your brain trash and your art will reflect that. Feed it great cinematography, photography, painting, and your work will get better. Without touching a single tutorial.

Stop thinking “people need to see my work.” Start thinking “I want to share what I’m building.” One mindset feels like pressure. The other feels like freedom. The work you share from passion is the work people connect with most.

One of the big reasons I picked up Houdini for VFX was to nail those iconic aura effects you see in anime, games, and movies. Slowly but surely… I’m getting there.

Is it just me, or is it super hard to find 2x64GB DDR4 3600MHz ram sticks? For the people running 128Gb ram, what are you running?

The results in the Pwnisher challenges blow my mind every time. Solo artists creating shots in a month that rival, sometimes surpass, Hollywood. It’s inspiring… but also a shame. If all that talent worked together, we wouldn’t need Hollywood to thrive.

Been fairly quiet the past few weeks, big life update: • Moved into my first home (and it needs a ton of work) • The rest of my time has gone into client projects + building a new portfolio focused on commercial work Excited to share more soon.

Lately I haven’t been doing as much 3D as I’d like. And I’m learning that it’s okay to feel that way, creativity comes in waves. Curious though… how do you deal with those dips? Do you force it, or wait it out?

When I’m in a project, I can’t disconnect, leaving flow feels impossible, so I stay glued to the desk until it’s done. But when I’m not in one… starting feels just as impossible. Anyone else stuck between “can’t stop” and “can’t start”?

Blender is proof that the “industry standard” doesn’t matter as much as people think. It’s not perfect, but for learning 3D, nothing beats it. You’ll never hit its limits early on and it’s opened more doors for new artists (and first client projects) than any other tool.

That bittersweet moment when you’re doing your best work yet… And can’t show any of it until February. The NDA struggle is real.
