Finally got round to sharing some thoughts onĀ @HistAssoc Early Career Development Programme. Each module includes a number of videos that can be watched as many times as you want, at a time to suit you. 1/8

If you are an ECT who is finding the generic CPD framework a bit bland, a non specialist looking to upskill or a more experienced teacher looking for some inspiration, then the HTDP course might be right for you. There are a few places still available! history.org.uk/secondary/cate…

Thanks to all the fantastic teachers who have spent the last few months sharing their thoughts with us about the nature of History teaching. Places are still available for the next programme beginning in March. Spread the word!

"Rescuing assessment from ā€˜knowledge-rich gone wrong" by Christine Counsell is one of the best things I have read on curriculum in a very long time: bit.ly/3OWtwpE. If you're not a member of The Historical Assocation, it's well worth spending Ā£2.49 for a copy.

For those who knew and loved my inspirational friend and colleague, Helen Snelson, it is my sad job to tell you that she died yesterday afternoon. I know how much she meant to so many of you and she was so grateful for your support and love these last few months.

Immensely saddened to hear of the passing of Helen Snelson. She has been a huge inspiration to me and many others, as well as a constant source of support and energy. She would want us to keep working at it, keep accepting each other as part of a ā€˜broad church’ of teachers.

I’m so sad to hear the news about Helen Snelson today. She was such a wonderful person and I am so happy to have known her and to have been guided by her in my PGCE in York. She was immensely kind and I was in awe of her knowledge of history and teaching

I rarely post but have found the out-pouring of love for dear Helen Snelson so moving. I was privileged to work alongside her as she chaired the Historical Assoc secondary committee for 6 years. Words can’t do justice to what she meant to us all, but wow! What a legacy she leaves ā¤ļø
