Next Monday at 10.15am, the Federal Court will deliver judgment in the claim for compensation made by TWU Australia on behalf of baggage handlers illegally sacked by Qantas in 2020. Qantas argued that no compensation should be awarded by the Court to the sacked workers.


The TWU Australia had a significant win against Qantas in the Federal Court today. The Court has comprehensively rejected Qantas’ case that it should not have to pay compensation to the 1700 baggage handlers that it illegally sacked. It will now have to pay significant compensation.
