This morning, we presented staff and volunteers The Wellspring SK with donated items from parishioners Our Lady & St Christophers, Romiley following our appeal. Lovingly wrapped by young people who are passionate about social justice! Happy Christmas.

It was good to begin to distribute the lovingly decorated Christmas cards for those who may be alone or isolated at this time of year. The first one to our old friend, Connie, who Young Caritas shopped for during the pandemic. Wishing her a Peaceful Christmas. 🙏

As we approach the first year anniversary of the invasion of Ukraine, our focus today was on PEACE. We considered the meaning of the word, what it looks like in action, and some signs and symbols. We prayed for peace and used Margaret Mizen MBE phrase: “Let peace begin with me.”

Said a fond farewell to Connie today. May she rest in peace.🙏 When the over 70s were told to stay at home and we started doing her shopping, she asked me to buy her a Swiss roll. That’s all she wanted. She loved cake. I think she’d approve of this one from #Archers #Marple 💕

Our next meeting will be Saturday 13th May. We are taking a field trip to the laudatosicentre at Wardley Hall in Worsley, dedicated to learning about care for our common home 🌎🌱🐝
